I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! For you Oklahoman's, hope you stayed safe during your blizzard!! We have been so busy that the next few posts will be catching up from the last week......we have been playing in the snow, Nate graduated from the Police Academy, and enjoying having Ashley here for Christmas. I wasnt sure where to begin so I am starting with the Christmas activities. We had a tacky Christmas sweater party at Aunt Lisa's house on Wed. I think the pictures say it all......Lisa and I made Nates sweater....he loved it! (maybe he didnt say that)
Now thats a cute bunch! Thanks to Courtney for making our bows.
Ashley won the certificate for "Tackiest Sweater".....she deserved it!!

Lee News

Henry David Lee opened the Lee Mercantile Company 120 years ago in Salina, Kan., creating a jean that would become a staple in closets for more than five generations. This December, the Lee® brand is celebrating its milestone anniversary with a gift to the generations who built the brand – 120 pairs of free jeans given away each day.

“Our longevity in the denim industry is thanks to our loyal customers, so we wanted to do something to say ‘thank you’,” said Liz Cahill, Vice President of Marketing Communications for Lee. “We’ve grown with our customers through the years so it’s only fitting that we celebrate this important milestone with our valued customers and friends.”

While Lee Jeans is a household name today, many are unaware of just how impactful the brand’s work has been in making jeans into a product that consumers know and love.

“It’s hard to imagine a time when women didn’t have the option to choose between a skinny jean and a boyfriend jean, but, until 1949, when Lee introduced Lady Riders, the industry didn’t even offer a cut tailored to a woman’s curves,” Cahill said. “We come in a lot of shapes and sizes, and Lee is proud to have led the way in fit innovations for both men and women alike.”

Lee’s innovations through the years include:

1911: Introduction of the overall
1926: Production of the first zipper fly
1949: Launch of Lady Lee Riders to the women’s market
1964: Debut of the first no-iron pants
2007: Introduction of Natural Fit instantly slimming tummy panel
2009: Launch of Slender Secret, an ultra-stretch slimming jean for every woman

Weekend Fun

I hope everyone had a nice weekend, it was a great weekend to be outside here. After the almost 8 inches of rain we had this last week it was nice to see the sun! I was able to get lots of chores done including some Christmas shopping.
I also decided to try cooking a real pumpkin, this was a long process! I recommend going to the store and buying the canned pumpkin. I had the pumpkin so I thought how hard can this be, that way it wont go to waste. For those of you who do not know how this process works I will give you the highlights:
1) Wash the pumpkin
2) Cut the pumpkin in half and clean out the insides
3) Cut the halves into chunks
4) Fill a roaster with one inch of water, put the pumpkins chunks in and cover with the lid
5) Cook on 500 degrees until tender (alittle over an hour for me)
6) Remove and let the pumpkin cool completely
7) Pull the rhine/peeling off
8) Put the pumpkin in a blender or processor until well mashed
9) Put in freezer bags, put into the freezer for later use or use immediately

A trip to your local grocery is definitely a shorter process!

Complicated

For those of you who are not on Facebook, I thought I would share this story with you..... Last night I went to bed about 10:00pm, while my husband was on the computer playing pool on Pogo. After getting into bed I realized, I had forgot to harvest my crops on my farm. (See previous post) So I asked Nate to please harvest them before he went to bed. When I got up this morning I thought, I had better check on my farm. Thankfully I did!! I had several messages from our friends and family, concerned about my marriage??? My loving Husband had done as I asked him and harvested my crops, but thats not all he had done. He had changed my marital status to "complicated" and put that I was looking for a relationship. Now those of you who know Nate very well know this is a huge joke, and this is normal behavior for him. But that doesnt change the fact that I had to spend 30 minutes this morning at 5am explaining to everyone I am not having a complicated marriage! Haha
I love you Nate!

If anyone has seen this escape please call the Helms Prison....

Amber went to a costume party last night and Nate dressed her up! Watch out Dallas Cowboys here she comes.....
Charlie Brown and The Great Pumpkin

Lexie...what can I say she likes to carry these around the house in her mouth.

Vador is thinking why do I always have to pose for pictures mom??

On a more serious note please pray for my grandmother, she had a stroke on Thursday and is in the hospital. She has a long road of recovery ahead. Thanks!
