Happy Halloween

Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween!! Nate had his defensive driving today and I went to a family pig pick-in. It was a good time but its been raining all day. And yes I made the carmel apples...Yummy.

30th Annual Waxhaw Scottish Festival

The Highland Games in Waxhaw went very well. It rained alot but thankfully we packed for rain. After being soaken wet all morning the sun finally came out around 1:00 and was a beautiful day!

Let the Game's begin...... My Husband looks pretty good in a skirt....:) And the Winner is..........

Nate!!!!! He took first place in the B class. Now its on to Hendersonville in 2 weeks...

Friday!

Its been a long week but the weekend is finally here!! Nate and I will be leaving the house at 5:30 Sat morning for Waxhaw, NC. Nate is competing in a Highland Game, his first in NC!! I will be going to bed early tonight!! The weather says its suppose to rain all weekend...packing the rain gear. Take a look at all of the events that will be going on in Waxhaw! http://www.wshg.org/

Play Ball

I have to start by saying, I miss my friends at 180 Medical. But God has blessed me with an amazing job here in NC! I started on Monday and last Friday they had a Sample sale, which is when all employees get to go buy the clothes that have been floating around for model for $2.00 each. And yes there is TONS of clothes. Even though I hadnt started yet, I was able to get in and enjoy this exciting event. They have 4 a year and there will be another one before Christmas. Yay!! Then today we had a company softball event for United Way, everyone got to walk down to the Grasshoppers Stadium, http://www.gsohoppers.com/park/, have lunch and stay out of work for 2 hours. Well I know your all jealous but let me remind you today in NC it was 45 degrees and raining....so not the best day............ but alot of fun!

Catching up....

Well I am alittle behind but hope to catch you up on everything quickly:

• I worked all weekend catering


• Monday Charlie got spayed but is doing very well


• I started my job Monday and so far so good


• Nate has gotten into a Highland Game here on Nov. 7Th, so look forward to that post
  
• We finished the book report over the Hatchet last night, pray he gets a good grade (Does anyone have a suggestion for the next book?)

The weekend is here!!

Its a full weekend of wedding catering for me. Last night was a wedding reception, today and tomorrow are weddings......and then Monday its off to work I go! So I leave you today with this recipe from Hungry Girl. Its great and Nate even liked it!

Vanity Fair here I come....

God has opened another door.....I will begin working for the Vanity Fair Corporate Office in Greensboro on Monday. Its a great opportunity for me and has alot of perks. Vanity Fair owns Wrangler, Lee, Nautica, and North Face, to name a few, which means lots of clothes! I will be working in the replenishment department and will cross train on the Kohl's accounts. I am very excited and cant wait to see what God has in store for us next!!

Subway Scrabble

I forgot to mention in the last post that Nate has been playing the Subway Scrabble Game and is very close to winning. But we need a B or a S....if you have one please let me know :) We will share the prize!! There is a Subway on the campus and everyday he and the guys go eat or at least get drinks so they get the pieces. They give them all to Nate, so he has like 30 pieces but we are getting alot of the same letters. I think its fixed and only certain letters go to different areas. But we have a week left to play so if your hungry or at least thirsty stop by your local Subway!!!

Old McHankins Had A Farm......

I have a new addiction and I might need rehab..... its Facebook Farming. Yes I know your thinking Janine farming?? But I am actually pretty good. I have cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, horses, and elephants(it was a special one day and I was gifted 5, not sure what elephants have to do with farms). But you get points for your crops and you have to plan your harvests to fit your schedule. You also get to buy stuff like tractors, houses, and other decorative things. Nate said I needed to get a hobby so I did!!Maybe not what he had in mind but its alot of fun. It all started because Nates Aunt Lisa had one and then it spread. Now there is several of the family members farming!! Its entertaining and we all have a good time talking about it, so for now Farming is in!!
